About us

The Li Research group is part of the Department of Chemistry and Organic and Carbon Electronics Laboratories (ORaCEL) at NC State. Our research lies at the interface of chemistry, physics, materials science and engineering as well as chemical engineering. The main focus of the group is the synthesis and structural determination of hybrid materials, including but not limited to halide perovskites. After synthesizing the materials, we will study their optical, electronic and magnetic properties. Then we can fabricate optoelectronic and spintronic devices in collaboration with other groups at ORaCEL. Located in the research triangle area, we also have collaboration opportunities with groups at Duke University and UNC Chapel Hill. Our students have the opportunities to learn a variety of skills including synthesis, spectroscopy and device fabrication depending on their research projects and interests.
